Loopt

is a new social media application that uses your phone to show you where all of your friends are on a detailed map and coordinating with status updates (Like Twitter with a map). Let's say you are in downtown San Francisco... you can take a look at the map and see which friends are near you. You can click on each of them to view their daily diary of activity updates. Maybe you're hungry and you post a quick comment to them asking if they want to join you for lunch. Press a quick button and the directions will be sent right to them. Coming soon on the new iPhone 3G! Also on Facebook... I just added it to my profile. Click HERE to go to Loopt's website.

An End Has a Start

The Editors - An End Has a Start.

Melonin

Wow...

This post is a shout out to all the women of darker complexion out there. Meagan Good should be reason enough for you to understand what these songs are talking about...

Smooth line: "Girl you sacred like the Gaza strip... but if comfortable you might have to strip... don't trip." If this song tickles your fancy, make sure to check out Jynx's song called "Brownie."

The Jynx - Melonin

Mos Def and Talib Kweli of Blackstar are one of hip-hop's all time best pairs. They lace playful flows on one of the smoothest beats for this song. Every verse in this song is one of my all time favorites. These guys can rhyme the same word... or not rhyme at all and make it sound good.

Blackstar - Brown Skin Lady

Su is a producer/rapper from the bay area group, Go Gettaz.

Su from ft. Enjol & Pops - Vitamin D

XR2

I love this song, the nonchalant flow during the verses, the beat is pure freshness, but the lyrics are kind of like a crossword puzzle. Check it out.

M.I.A. - XR2

Where were you in '92?
Where were you in '92?
This is how we do in the XR2
The boys look fine, stereo's alpine
20/20, Thunderbird 12:09
Took a pill, good time, all the time
Brick lane massive
We were like grime
Labyrinth, world dance
Bagleys time
High-top fades
We ain't never paid
Roll-up jeans, E's, Lucozade
Versace jeans, chains and shades
We roll in there like we late
DJ's, MC's, private raves
Keep it secret, light it, mate.
Whistle, whistle
Blow, blow
Here we, here we
go, go...
Some of them drink Heinekin
and some of them drink Bacardi
Some of them talk a lot of shit
and act rowdy
Some say people follow me
Some say people is the key
When the music's got a beat
then that's what gets me
Some people think we're stupid but we are not

New iPhone!

The new iPhone 3G is coming out July 11th!  There are so many exciting additions. First of all, its half the price and twice as fast. You've got to be kidding me. Now I can upgrade from my regular "old school" cell phone. Apple has givien out the SDK code to the public and there is now a WEBSITE where you can download applications straight to your phone. I can list endless improvements but you should see them for yourself. HERE is the link to the Apple Keynote conference (if you're not an Apple fan now, you will be after watching this...PS. I hate PCs and Windows). I can't think of a more exciting speaker for technology than Steve Jobs. Not many things get me more excited than a new Apple release. And finally, check out the new ad:

Traxxpad PSP: The Handheld Music Studio

PSP just released a game that allows you to make professional sounding beats on their handheld game console. Insane. I can see people getting addicted to this. Go to Youtube and you can watch a million videos of beats people have made, including a lot of good replicas... like this one if you can recognize it:

Also be sure to check out the Traxxpad ad featuring Mistah F.A.B., Zion I, Lyrics Born, and Amp Live. I'm happy they went to the bay for this one:

Nas: Hero

Nas just did an interesting photo shoot for Complex. I don't think he normally dresses this style. He really let the Complex team play "dress up" with him.

You can check out the video for the shoot HERE.

Here is Nas's new song produced by Polow da Don. Polow is getting EVERYWHERE. His recent hits include Usher's "Love in this Club" and Chris Brown's "Forever." I would have liked this song better without a girl singing on it, but hey, it's still Nas... and Polow.

The Bake Sale EP

The highly anticipated EP from the Cool Kids is now out for download. This Midwest duo mix retro with modern, old school with new school, to make this album. My favorite songs so far are Black Mags, Gold and A Pager, Mikey Rocks, and 88. Check it out:
