Young Squad Music Video

Brand New Young Squad Video off the S.S. Mixtape Vol. 1:

Here's another song off Vol. 1 I haven't posted yet, that grew on me. Young L's verse is hilarious.

A couple songs are out from the S.S. Mixtape Vol. 2. Here's one:

And I had to throw in this older Young Squad song that hits real hard. This song just makes me want to go dominate someone.

Slap Update

I love beats like this. Snaps and bass.

Howcome this song wasn't on Based Boys? Young L was on fire with this beat, and it could definitely spark some kind of fly robocop dance. Another one of my many favorite Pack jams.

There is so much new innovative music coming out of the bay these days. People say hyphy is gone....so what! We may not be all over the radio, but it's not about the radio these days. I listen to music from the internet. Imeem, Myspace, blogs. And I love my bay music.

Here's a song that I found kinda interesting. I'm sure you've heard "Better off alone" by Alice DJ. Wiz Khalifa did a nice remake of the song:

The R&B post

R&B goes sometimes.

J. Valentine, who claims to be the king of R&Bay, has a sick new song out. Kinda sounds like J. Holiday's "Bed":

The Dream's album LoveHate is pretty tight. Check it out. Some of the songs like "Purple Kisses" and "Fast Car" are reminiscent of a modern Prince.

Deep Side's new jam could definitely come in handy. Haha, they say "does anybody wanna let me get a little bit of that donkey ride?"

FNF from Florida:

I just had to post an old school baby makin classic video to cap this post off:

Quarter Girl

This post involves songs about the quarter girls out there...because a quarter is better than a dime.

16.1.08

PoleBoyZ

The PoleBoyz from North Oakland are goofy as hell and they still go. I'd say their style is a combo of Atlanta snap music and Hyphy. Their most popular song is about wearin a cereal box as a backpack. Haha. The beat is so fly. Innovative:

SneakyMike who I'm pretty sure makes the PoleBoyZ beats has a bunch of goofy videos on youtube. I think they're hilarious, however many people might find them retarded. Check this one out: It's called "That Man"

Ryan Leslie: Modern Mozart

Ryan Leslie, from Harlem, was the guy who made Cassie. He is a genius beat maker. I could have sang on "Me & U" and it would have been a hit. Not to mention, he graduated from Harvard. Anyways, he's got a really unique style of producing music. He opts for real in-studio instruments but still achieves the same futuristic style of beat machines. He posts a video blog on his website where he shows his process of song making. Here's a couple of the dope ones:

Here's the completed song:

Now that we're on the topic of Ryan Leslie, we can talk about Cassie. Or better yet, we won't talk about her, we'll just watch this freaky video and say "daaaaaaamn."

That Space Music

Is it just me or has there been a lot of space music out lately? It seems like the new deal is you make a spaceshiplike beat and you spit some female enticing lyrics, and you've got yourself a sick song.

This one is an older classic. Maybe this is where it all came from?

Charlie Wilson meets T-Pain

First you need to see the old Charlie Wilson in these classic jams with the Gap Band:

And now you have the context to appreciate the sexuality of this new song:

WARRIORS = YEEEEE

I love the Warriors. They just beat the Spurs in overtime so I'm kinda pumped right now. I've just been reminded that they are by far the sickest team in the NBA and they fit perfectly in Oakland and the Yay. Let me explain why:

Baron Davis:
The Warrior Girls:
Stephen Jackson:
This irrelevant song:

Monta Ellis:
Jessica Alba:
And a ton of other reasons including all the other players on the team and the fans.

Wolfpack Muzik

Everybody's been doing their own thing lately.

Young L: always hard at work. The guy must make a new song every day. Check out this one with Lil Go from the SS click...I think he's 15 years old:

Lil B: he makes a lot of tracks with Young L. This one is tight. Listen up, boppers:

Stunnaman: made a mixtape: "2800 I stay blunted." I think he's the one rapper who could be most successful rapping without a good beat. He's probably the most talented lyricist in the Pack. That's not to say he's my favorite from the Pack though.

Lil Uno: I don't know what he's been up to. But he's on this song with The Teknitionz which is pretty fly.

I'd also like to throw out an older lesser known and underrated Pack song:

Team Knoc!

Team Knoc goes! I don't know how to describe them...maybe a combination of The Team and E-40...if those could ever be combined. You get the idea. I could have put up so many Team Knoc songs but I'll just pick a couple.

Maybe my favorite. Crazy beat right from the beginning:

Dark slapper:

Haha. The title. Need I Say more?

Straight up goofy:

random foreign music videos

New years day. Time for some new shit. Some trippy, random, foreign, non-rap shit. I don't just listen to bay rap music...c'mon.

This first video is from a Bogota, Columbia. Yudo - Open Up

One more latin video...hey, I just got back from Miami. This is Javiera Mena from Chile.

This one is from M.I.A. She normally raps...mostly about anti-violence/war shit, so this is kind of rare from her. She was born in Sri Lanka but lives in London.

Alright the last video is from Chromeo. It's not foreign, but it's pretty damn trippy (just wait till the all-white guys start dancing:
